And the best part: without needing to leave home!
Saidi history began more than 5 thousand years ago, with Tahtib. Tahtib is an ancient Egyptian martial art. Which later became a male dance.
Many years after Tahtib, the Ghawazee dancers created the “Raqs Al Assaya”, a really important style in Saidi’s history. Because for the first time women were dancing with the stick. But in this case, the walking stick.
Saidi dance is then created, by the Saidi women. Inspired by the Ghawazee dancers they decided to mix Tahtib, with Belly Dance. Dancing for the first time ever, this strong and feminine dance!
